Holiday Escape

Hi guys!

Sorry I just stopped uploading for a while, it's been tooo long since I last posted on here. Truth is, term got pretty - very - hectic. Honestly, I had so much to do that I had to put all my productive focus on working. Then, when that was finally over - I just needed to breathe again haha! But I'm back, and the craziness of last term will be talked about in an upcoming blog post about what Spring term is like here at college. But for now, I'm just going to chat a bit about a great holiday get away I had, the whole 3 weeks off *sigh* :)

Needless to say, I spent a lot of my holiday catching up with friends and family. I got to see people I hadn't seen in a while, and just not worry about any work or chores for a while! Whilst catching up with some friends, I even got to see my old singing teacher from my hometown and my musical director from my previous shows. Not only that, but I did a TON of shopping - retail therapy of course ;)

So, for part of the Easter holidays I got to go on a lovely relaxing holiday with my parents. We went to this cabin/treehouse resort called Forest Holidays, and it is the perfect holiday escape.

The cabins are stunning. Absolutely stunning. They have a beautiful wooden exterior, but a modern yet cosy cottage inside. It has the most adorable woodland features, such as wooden carvings of owls and other forest animals to add to the cabin feel. The cabins are built with underfloor heating, which is just perfect when you've had a day out exploring, and you're provided with a TV with a lot of channels and movies, a BBQ, as well as board games laid out on arrival. I think the best part - in my opinion - is the hot tub! On our patio, as well as outdoor dining and a BBQ, there was our own private hot tub. I thought I would never get out! I could stay in there, with my glass of Bailey's, content with the world for ages!

The resort itself is quite small, but very cosy. The cabins aren't bunched together, but are actually very spaced out and not over crowded. There is bike hire available, a small shop and restaurant by reception, but you are left mainly to your own devices to do as you please.

Getting out and about, we did a lot of exploring of the surrounding towns, and they were beautiful! We explored Whitby, Scarborough and Pickering. The weather was better on some days compared to others, particularly when we were visiting Scarborough, and were right by the sea on a cold windy morning! But the weather improved throughout the day, and was certainly nothing to complain about! Exploring Whitby was great, we walked along the coast, took in the sites (and food!) and even explored up to the Abbey, with this town being historic for its connection with Dracula!? Scarborough was also this lovely seaside town, similar to Whitby, but we went into the town centre to do some more exploring. Pickering is a cosy small village, on the way in and out of the resort, needless to say, we encountered a lot of tractors on windy country roads! Visiting towns close to the coast was amazing for food, we got fresh fish to cook back at the cabin, and had yum food whilst wandering around - you just have to hide it from the seagulls!

So, when it was time to return back home, I felt rested, refreshed and ready to get back to work!

I hope you've all had a great Easter and speak again very soon!
